Day before.  Charging into the day feeling calm, finally getting a chance to shower.  Calm…

packing for DC, laptop and journals, camera and phones.  Light.

I always feel nervous but before flying but what choice do I have.  Going, and will note everything.  A work travel, like nothing I’ve had before.  President’s Club last year didn’t count, I thought this morning.  We went over there to relax, and play.  This occasion, business.  Orientation to more of the company, what ti does in this intersection of real estate and tech.

Sunday, our “chill day” as Jack reminds me. They’re calm, stressed about nothing… their only priority is the eased inch of the morning.  To-do’s, just that, and more of that.

Henry requesting waffles after his yogurt, Emma wants one more.  No requests yet from little Kerouac.  Looking through new conversations, and for some reason still thinking about … WHY…

Putting it out of my head, thinking of travel and how this one girl I met in the tasting room a couple months ago blogs and posts about travels and where she plans to go next.  I need to see more, I realize.

Kids here with me.  Jack and Emma.

In the office doing a couple things before readying for bed.

Moving a little money for the MAP.  Keeping everything simple, singular and consolidated.  Shit.. getting late.  So much I want to do right now, but, as I noted, TIME.  Always.  That’s always the issue, whether positive or negative.  Time time TIME.

Jackie saying how much fun he had at Mom and Dad’s for his birthday dinner, Emmie too.

Distracted by something.  Hate when that happens. What’s the next distraction going to be, or knot of indecisiveness which is so Mike Madigan.  Tomorrow, take kids to school then head to SF, then fucking Berkeley after that.  The commute and driving to site visits on top of that is starting to get to me.  Not sure what to do.  Well, I am… but more on that later.

Fining my writing style and “rules” I guess you could call them. Never really had rules before but I do now.  I have to, otherwise the shit just goes whichever way to whatever.

Another distraction… should just call it. Day over, clock out.  Come back in the morning, take this thing with me to the third floor which I’ve only did once only to not wake up at the early hour I wanted to write.

HAPPINESS. Imagine that.

9:42

Mom and Dad leaving a short while ago, me opening some wine and here in office.  Gratitude not just overwhelms me but controls my attention and movement.  Mom telling me that Dad is an outspoken fan of the poz loft.  Need tot urn this into a business, or part of AEd.

Glass poured but no sips yet.  Still hot outside, and in here. Is the AC set?  Let me check…. Yes, it was off.  Turned back on, should be more comfortable soon.  Not much in the mood to write or work.  Missing one human.  Can’t get distracted, even for a nano of nanos.

Note for meeting tomorrow on a post-it under right forearm, pushed to side.  Relaxed, zen, music at loft tonight.  The gratitude is life an instructional tumult that tells me one direction or another.  I’m alone, in this office, waiting but not.  Rather deciding to just make something occur.  Bed soon, wake early, coffee here so no Noto trip.

More and more composed and centered, relayed in fresh reality in this office, this condo, in Windsor.  Still think of what my wife would think, but it’s time to dismiss that, I know…

Connected, renewed, self-recognized.

“Ahhhhhhh….”, she said

while I poured the warm water over her head ridding all strands of shampoo, “I’m just going to relax and enjoy my life.”

Quote of the day. Already. Easily.

Thank you, my sweet little baby girl.

Kids gone, and as expected I miss them and feel bad for wishing the day would at some points pass faster and just be done.

Rain starting, soaking gently.  Watching the news, about to have a beer, go through wines and see if anything else strikes me for meeting tonight.

Seeing Mike Madigan’s character, the father side, more.  How he does what he does, points for improvement which some people would argue are many when they should engage in self-discussion.  I don’t know, it’s still hard to believe… 3 kids, ME.  Here I am, Sunday, October nearly over.  Looking at the faces the kids drew on 3 pumpkins Mom bought them. Jack drawing one for Henry.  I remember that, Halloween, when younger.  Looking forward to canvassing the San Carlos Hills streets, only wanting to pretend I was something, tossed candy into pillow case depth.

5:18, looking at the pumpkins, thinking about the week, looking behind me rain on pause, if you could’ve called that rain.  You could see the sheets moving left to right.  Called Jack over to see and he was glued to the window.

I miss them.  Too quiet in here. They were just here,
