I had to cancel my lunch and not go get a sandwich at Dry Creek. I had to see the fruit, hear the sound of that crusher/de-stemmer, talk to my brother Cass, see what he thought. I was there for nearly my whole 30 minute break, just observing. Yes I kept filming and taking pictures but much of my abbreviated residency was just there watching. Once a year, so I had to do it. I’m not waiting another year. I was fulfilled. I had a story. I didn’t need a sandwich. The berries looked like condensed purple pearls. I truthfully was unable to pull my eyes from their glossy shells.
