The Small Business narrative and Story – Composition and complexion, voice, feel, emotion, all of it. Literally EVERYTHING Small Business, that’s what BlogDesignTech is. Building the Story, all days, scribbling everything, fighting for visibility and connectedness.
Take a picture of your desk, or the floor, the shelves, or like in Café Noto in Windsor – a Small Business that to me ix the embodiment and denotative and connotative of Small Biz – the menu on the wall elevated behind the counter, and the sweet folks behind that counter at reg’ and on the machines.
These small visuals are not small. The statements are grand and expansive.
BDT is present in the way people are. The realness and heartfelt, genuine, non-contrived or forced conversations.
It’s more than blogging, or any web or blog or creative design, or the tech or techniques deployed – The HUMANS.
Conversations, new and returning and those still being built. The Story, the progression and dimension and manuscript that’s never stopped in its write.
That’s what BDT is, and what Small Business should transmit.
A reiteration of reality, tireless telling of TRUTH. Reminding your customers who you are and why you LOVE what you do.

Your business is a story that not only evolves but speaks differently from one day to the next.
Communicate what you learn about your business. What stories do your customers share with you?
The day-to-day…. What you think is boring or bland, isn’t. It’s part of the story, it’s a piece in the reality.
Me as my first client, like I said in the last entry, is showing me that I as the business owner have new needs with respect to informing the business.
Simplicity. I don’t get new tech or devices, or platforms, or anything just for the sake of getting it. “Less is better,” a winery owner friend of mine said years ago. The sentence itself is simple, but expansive and timeless.
Everything in your shop or office, with your clients’ projects, ALL OF IT, is important. A learning opportunity, your days and interactions.
Encourage yourself to look at your business closer…. Blog EVERYTHING now, I always say. What happened when you opened the door, what do you want for the day… share journal entries, pictures, notes to yourself.
The design of it, and the technique, will be obvious. And that too will evolve, take new shapes and make new statements.

More than fighting to have your story felt, it’s having the courage to share it. And, the kindness. I’ve always thoughts that sharing your story is an act of kindness. How the business came to be, what convinced you that it’s time?
Share the moments that are otherwise, to some, plain, or boring. Show the early mornings, the late nights.
Where you are, what you’re doing. And enjoy doing it.
Love in your narrative, always. Even if you’re fighting to connect with people. Keep fighting, keep loving. Keep notes, a journal, you don’t need to put “complete sentences” on the lines all the time.
Just start putting it our there. Post this, post that, post you… exactly what you do. EVERYTHING.
5-23-24……..
Fighting for your Story and narrative. The Story, always capitalized. Your identity, what you want your business to be, how you need it to be seen. For your financial Composition and reality yes, but too for your Mental Health.
My first client – ME. Aim, live from the posts, eventual manuscripts. Shortening the Road with certain techniques. Starting here, about to have lunch after dropping off my youngest, little Henry, at his preschool.
12:39 making all minutes count. Nothing too polished or clean about my lines.
More verse than conventional syntax and structure. Fighting with Art, and yes businesses and their messaging can be artful. Just take a look at some of the marketing firms in the city, and some of their clients disclosed in online portfolio.
This writer listening to and seeing everything. Launch first… first writing session of its kind here.
Your Narrative has to be fought for. You ARE a fighter. Don’t be passive, don’t settle. What do you want your business to be, how do you need it seen? Speak and create and disseminate until you ACQUIRE.
This is the only way as business owners, to get what we need. FIGHT FOR IT.
